To know Christ and make Him known through Bible studies & prayer, worship, evangelism, discipleship, and HIBC Bless Philippines Missions Projects.
We are a Filipino-Canadian congregation serving within the community of Hamilton, ON. Join us every Sunday at 2:30PM!
Bless Philippines is the mission project of HIBC, aiming to empower the Indigenous Christian Churches in the Philippines to advance the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. The goal is to encourage and enrich Pastors, workers and youth to a steadfast service to the Lord as well as to teach and reach more people with the Gospel in and out of the church.
We believe the Bible to be the completeWord of God; historically accurate and entirely free from error. We believe that the sixty-six books comprising the Old Testament and the New Testament were verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and that the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith, practice and the true basis of Christian union.
We believe there is one God; Holy, Sovereign, existing in three Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the absolute and essential deity of Jesus Christ, in His eternal existence with the Father in preincarnate glory, in His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, triumphant ascension, mediatorial ministry and personal return.
We believe in the absolute and essential deity personality of the Holy Spirit who convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, who regenerates, sanctifies, empowers and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ.
We believe that Satan exists as an evil personality and is active in the world; the originator of evil, an arch-enemy of God and man.
We believe that man was divinely created in the image of God, that he sinned, becoming guilty before God, resulting in total depravity, thereby incurring physical and spiritual death and in dire need of a Savior.
We believe salvation is by sovereign electing grace of God, that by appointment of the Father, Christ voluntarily suffered substitutionary death, once and for all and propitiatory death. We believe that justification is by faith alone in the all sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that those whom, God has effectually called shall be divinely presevered and finally perfected in the image of the Lord.
We believe in that "blessed hope", the personal pre-millennial return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (John 14:3, Act 1;11, 1 Cor. 15:51-57, 1 Thess. 4; 13-18; 5; 1-5, Titus 2:13, 2 Peter 3; 10) in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and the judgment and conscious eternal punishment of the wicked.
We believe that the Local Church is a company of baptized believers called out from the world, separated unto the Lord Jesus, voluntarily associated for the ministry of the Word, the mutual edification of its members, the propagation of the faith and the observance of the ordinances. We believe that it is a sovereign, independent body, existing its own divinely awarded gifts, precepts and privileges under the Lordship of Christ, the Great Head of the Church.
We believe there are only two ordinances for the church regularly observed in the New Testament:
a) Baptism - The immersion of a believer in water whereby he obeys Christ's command and sets forth his identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.
b) The Lord's Table - A memorial wherein the believer partakes of two elements: the bread and the wine, which symbolizes the Lord's body and shed blood, proclaiming His death until He comes. It should be preceded always with solemn self-examination.
We believe in the absolute separation of Church and the State.
We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord's Day and that, in a special sense, it is the divinely appointed day for worship and spiritual exercise. It should be observed and never be neglected by those who professed Christ.
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interest and good of society, the magistrates are to be prayed, conscientiously honored and obeyed, except only in those things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience and Prince of the rulers of the earth.
Pastor Henrick Jess Y. Del Mundo officially began serving at Hamilton International Baptist Church on January 7, 2024, succeeding Pastor Rudy Yap as Head Pastor.
Pastor Jess was born on December 9, 1991 in Manila, Philippines. He came to know Jesus Christ through a campus minister in 2007, when he was in Grade 10. This helped in his decision to study at FEBIAS College of Bible to answer God's call. By God's grace, Pastor Jess graduated in 2013, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries with a major in Theology. In May 2025, he graduated from the Biblical Seminary of the Philippines, earning a Master of Divinity in Christian Education.
By 2017, Pastor Jess became a licensed Pastor and was called to serve as Head Pastor at Life Evangelical Church, Inc. in the Philippines. The Lord then transferred him to Grace Abounds Christian Fellowship in 2022, where he served as the Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor.
God called Pastor Jess to serve at HIBC and by His faithfulness, Pastor Jess and his family arrived safely to Canada on December 18, 2023.
Pastor Jess has been married to his wife, Glicel Del Mundo, since 2018. They are blessed with a daughter, Myrtle Caitly Del Mundo, and are expecting another little one soon.
In 1992, God called a handful of people to start a Bible study and fellowship in the Hamilton/Burlington area. With the help of elders from First Filipino Baptist Church in Toronto, this home Bible study flourished into a group of believers with a vision to start a church. After several months of prayer, Bible studies and vision casting meetings, the first worship service was held on February 1993 and Hamilton Filipino Baptist Church (HFBC) was born.
In 1994, Pastor Andy Sarmiento became our first Pastor. In 1998, Pastor Rudy Yap was called to the church and served until December 2023. In January 2024, Pastor Henrick Jess Y. Del Mundo officially began serving as Head Pastor and continues to serve today.
In 2003, HFBC was registered as a charity under the Canadian government.
In 2006, HFBC was accepted to become a member of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Canada (FEBCC) and remains a member today.
The ministries of HFBC have developed and grown to reach out to newcomers in Hamilton and we have welcomed members from various parts of the world. Recognizing that the congregation now consists of mixed ethnic backgrounds, the church changed its name to Hamilton International Baptist Church in 2008.
God led us to step outside our borders and into the remote areas of the Philippines to help indigenous churches. In 2019, the church launched a mission project called Bless Philippines where we developed a mission partnership in Bataan, Zambales, Nueva Ecija , Sipalay and Cagayan de Oro.
The most exciting and rewarding aspect of our history has been the heart for missions and the spiritual growth that occurred in the lives of HIBC members and the people connected with us. We are grateful to God for his hand in our history and we look to the future with hope that He will continue the good work He has started in us.
